Boulangerie Utopie, Paris: Best Pastries in the 11th Arrondissement
Paris is often associated with croissants, baguettes, and buttery indulgence, and every arrondissement has its own treasures waiting to be discovered. On my latest pastry hunt, I found myself in the 11th arrondissement, home to Boulangerie Utopie, a bakery that’s quickly stolen the top spot on my list of Parisian favourites.

Background About the Boulangerie Utopie, Paris
Boulangerie Utopie sits on 20 Rue Jean-Pierre Timbaud, right in the heart of a lively neighbourhood known for its culinary gems. The bakery is open Tuesday to Sunday, from 7 am to 8 pm (closed Mondays). Despite its modern popularity, it still holds that quintessential Parisian vibe, tiny space, mouthwatering displays, and a scent of freshly baked bread that lures you from the street.
The 11th arrondissement has no shortage of famous bakeries, but Boulangerie Utopie stands out with its creative pastries and reasonable prices, making it a must-visit.

Experience
I arrived in the morning and there was a line. Thankfully, it moved quickly, and within minutes I was inside, greeted by the sight of rows of pastries that looked almost too perfect to eat. While the bakery is small, there’s a bench inside where you can enjoy your pastries if it’s not too crowded, a cosy spot for those who want to savour their finds right away.
The Food
I couldn’t resist trying two pastries:
Bacon and Cheese Swirl (€2.20) – Buttery, savoury, and just indulgent enough without being overly heavy. I’m a huge fan of savoury pastries and loved the bacon and cheese swirl.
Spiral Pain (€1.90) – A swirl of flaky goodness that was perfectly crunchy on the outside and delightfully soft within. Not too sweet, just balanced.

Both were incredibly fresh and flavourful, the kind of pastries that make you close your eyes and savour every bite. Honestly, I think this might be my favourite pastry shop so far, and I’m already dreaming of going back to try their wider selection.
Price
Prices are surprisingly affordable, with most items ranging from €1–10. For the quality and taste, it feels like an absolute steal compared to many other Parisian bakeries.
Final Thoughts
Boulangerie Utopie is one of those spots that makes you feel like you’ve stumbled upon a local secret, despite the line out the door. With creative pastries, fair prices, and a warm neighbourhood vibe, it’s a bakery I’d happily return to again. If you’re exploring the 11th arrondissement, make sure to put this one at the top of your list.
