A Michelin-Starred Culinary Experience
Koral’s menu is crafted and curated by One Michelin Star Executive Chef Jean-Baptiste Natali, who brings his exceptional culinary expertise to this unique setting. With a focus on fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced ingredients, the menu masterfully balances simplicity with intricate flavors, ensuring every dish is a work of art.
One of the most exciting moments during our meal was when a scuba diver swam into the massive aquarium, waving at each table while feeding the fish. It was such a fun and unexpected surprise, adding an extra layer of magic to the already immersive underwater dining experience. Watching the fish swarm around as the diver fed them made us feel like we were truly part of the marine world.
Location
Located inside the luxurious Kempinski Resort in Nusa Dua, Koral is designed to transport you into an underwater paradise. The tunnel-like aquarium setting creates an enchanting atmosphere, making every meal feel like an exclusive, immersive experience. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply treating yourself, dining at Koral is sure to be unforgettable.
The Food
There are 3-4 set menus to choose from, allowing you to pick dishes that best suit your taste. Each dish was beautifully presented, and every bite had a unique and delicious flavour.
Aside from the set menu, we received a complimentary drink—possibly because they knew it was my birthday, along with freshly baked bread and crackers to start. To make the night even more special, they even surprised me with a birthday cake, which was such a thoughtful touch and truly elevated the celebration!
The service was impeccable—the staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and ensured we had everything we needed. Each dish was plated to perfection, and the flavors were bold and well-balanced.
While the overall experience was amazing, one thing to note is that the food came out quite fast. As soon as I finished one dish, the next one was already at the table! While this meant there were no long waits, I would have preferred a minute or two between courses to fully savor each dish. That said, I definitely left with a full stomach and a happy heart.
Price
The menu had a variety of set options, making it perfect for trying different dishes. We opted for the Koral Gourmet and Koral Experience menus, both priced at IDR 1,500,000 ($145 AUD) per person.
Since we chose to sit in the tunnel section, the price was slightly higher but it was absolutely worth it! Dining fully surrounded by marine life made the experience even more magical.
One thing to note: large still water was an additional cost of IDR 80,000 ($7.75 AUD).
