Hong Kong Disneyland: A Magical Journey Through the World of Frozen

As of November 20, 2023, Hong Kong Disneyland proudly introduced the worldโ€™s first and largest โ€œFrozenโ€-themed land. This enchanted area brings the snowy kingdom of Arendelle to life where you get a chance to experience everything Frozen in the heart of the Disneyland in Hong Kong. From breathtaking Norwegian-inspired landscapes to immersive attractions, the World of Frozen is a must-visit for fans of Elsa, Anna, and their beloved friends.

Navigating the World of Frozen: What to Expect

The World of Frozen is home to three main attractions that transport guests right into the magical universe of Frozen. These attractions include:

  1. Frozen Ever After (Boat Ride): Hop aboard a boat and embark on an enchanting journey through Arendelle’s iconic Ice Palace. This leisurely ride takes you through magical waters, accompanied by the beautiful music of Frozen. Whatโ€™s a surprise, though, is the steep drop toward the end of the rideโ€”definitely not what I expected, but it adds a little thrill to the adventure!
  2. Wandering Oakenโ€™s Sliding Sleighs (Rollercoaster): For thrill-seekers, this rollercoaster is the place to be. Join Olaf and Sven on a thrilling sleigh ride through the scenic views of Arendelle. You’ll zoom across hills and glide through caves as you experience the stunning natural beauty of this Norwegian-inspired kingdom.
  3. Playhouse in the Woods (Theatrical Experience): Immerse yourself in a unique and interactive theatrical experience where you join Anna and Elsa in a heartwarming adventure. The play allows you to become part of the story, discovering your connection to the elemental spirits of Arendelle. It’s a fun, chill experience perfect for all ages!

Pro Tips for Your Visit

  • Avoid the Crowds: The park can get very crowded, especially if you visit without a FastPass. I visited on a Monday, and despite it being a weekday, it was still packed. I recommend purchasing the early access pass to get in before the park officially opens. This will allow you to head straight to the rides without waiting in long lines.
  • Ride Lines: Be prepared to wait for at least 30 minutes per ride unless you opt for the FastPass or Early Access. You can avoid long waits by heading straight to the attractions first thing in the morning.
  • Merchandise Madness: If you’re a Frozen fan, expect long lines inside the merchandise store. However, the selection is worth it, with everything from plush toys, mugs, and clothes to jackets and tote bags inspired by the movie.

Food in the World of Frozen

Letโ€™s talk about food! The World of Frozen offers a variety of delicious meals and desserts inspired by the icy landscape of Arendelle. Hereโ€™s a glimpse of what you can try:

  1. Savory Dishes at Golden Crocus Inn:
    • I tried the Lamb Shanks, and let me tell youโ€”this was massive! The lamb was incredibly tender and served with a hearty serving of mashed potatoes and gravy.
    • The Meatballs and Mash were another delicious combo. A great option for those craving a filling, savory meal!
  2. Frozen Desserts at Northern Delights:
    • For dessert, you can’t miss the Summer Snow Cone Soft Serve. It’s refreshing and perfect for a sunny day in the park. One of the highlights for me was Olafโ€™s Face on a Marshmallowโ€”super cute and just the right amount of sweetness!
    • I also tried the Full-Sized Olaf on a Carrot Cakeโ€”and it exceeded my expectations! The carrot cake was moist, flavourful, and the sweet carrot flavour was so satisfying. A true treat for dessert lovers!

Hereโ€™s Everything You Need to Know About the World of Frozen:

  • Scenic Views: Take in the breathtaking views of Arendelleโ€™s stunning Norwegian landscapes as you explore the land. It’s a great spot for photos, so donโ€™t forget your camera!
