Tsuki Ramen: Authentic & Affordable Japanese Food in London
If you’re on the hunt for authentic and affordable Japanese food in London, this spot in Putney is a must-visit. With a cozy yet modern atmosphere, an extensive menu, and a convenient buzzer system for downstairs seating, this restaurant offers a fantastic dining experience.
Experience
The restaurant has both upstairs and downstairs seating, allowing flexibility depending on your preference. One standout feature downstairs is the buzzer system at each table, making it incredibly convenient to call for service without needing to wave down a staff member.
Food
The menu boasts a variety of Japanese dishes, from fresh sashimi to comforting ramen. We opted for a selection of sashimi and sushi, as well as a warm bowl of tonkotsu ramen.

- Assorted Sashimi (Small) (£22.95): We got to choose our selections and opted for fatty tuna (toro), salmon, and sea bream. Each slice was fresh, delicate, and well-portioned—an incredible value for the price.
- Assorted 8 Nigiri (£19.99): A beautifully plated selection of fresh nigiri that showcased the quality of the fish.
- Premium Sashimi Don (£18.99): This bowl had a variety of premium sashimi cuts beautifully arranged.
- Salmon Don (£16.00): Generous portions of fresh salmon, displayed elegantly on a bed of rice.
- Signature Tonkotsu Ramen (£14.99): The broth was warm and hearty, with a rich, deep flavour. The chashu was seared, giving it a smoky touch, and it was melt-in-your-mouth soft.
- Miso Soup (£3.99): A comforting side dish to complement the meal.
While the restaurant’s name highlights ramen, you might expect it to specialize in ramen, but there is only one option on the menu. The real standout, however, is the sashimi and sushi, which stood out with their freshness, generous portions, and great value.
Price
Given the high-quality ingredients and portion sizes, the price range of £15 – £30 per person felt very reasonable. The affordability, especially for premium sashimi, makes this a great option for sushi lovers who want high-end quality without breaking the bank. Note that there is a service fee of 12.5%.
Final Thoughts
This spot in Putney is a great choice for sushi and ramen lovers. With its fresh ingredients, well-balanced flavours, and fair pricing, it’s a hidden gem worth visiting. The convenient buzzer system downstairs adds to the seamless experience, and the cozy ambiance makes it perfect for both casual dining and special occasions.
