One of the most unique and relaxing experiences in Lapland, Finland, is unwinding in a hot sauna and outdoor Jacuzzi while surrounded by a breathtaking winter wonderland. Many resorts offer this incredible opportunity, allowing guests to embrace the Finnish tradition of sauna culture while soaking in the contrast of heat and icy cold air.
I had the chance to experience this at Northern Lights Village in Saariselkä. After a long day of winter activities, stepping into the warm, wooden sauna was the perfect way to relax. The comforting heat wrapped around me as I let the steam melt away the chill from the icy air outside.
After some time in the sauna, I stepped out into the crisp Arctic air and made my way to the outdoor Jacuzzi. The contrast was exhilarating—the freezing temperatures on my skin, quickly replaced by the warmth of the bubbling water in the hot tub. Snowflakes gently fell around me, creating a surreal, picture-perfect moment.
