Let’s Eat in Santorini: A Satisfying Stop for Juicy Gyros
Since we arrived late into Santorini, our dinner options were pretty limited. Thankfully, Let’s Eat was still open and with just minutes to spare before closing, we managed to grab our first gyros in Greece. Hungry and eager for something authentic, we couldn’t have asked for a better intro to Greek street food.

Experience
Let’s Eat has the kind of laid-back, welcoming atmosphere that instantly puts you at ease. It’s unpretentious and focused on good food, which is exactly what we needed after a long travel day. The staff were friendly and efficient, and the food was packaged carefully.
One thoughtful detail we loved? The gyros were wrapped tightly, making them super easy to hold and eat without any mess. Even the wrap itself stood out. It didn’t feel like a separate element but more like a soft, warm, flavourful part of the filling holding everything together without falling apart or getting soggy.
Since we arrived just before closing time, we took our order to go and enjoyed it back at our nearby accommodation. It hit the spot.
Food
Let’s Eat has an extensive menu, but we kept things simple and stuck with the classics—gyros.

We ordered two varieties:
- Doner Gyros (€7.50) – Packed with juicy, well-seasoned meat that had a rich, savoury depth.
- Chicken Gyros (€7.50) – Tender, juicy, and full of flavour, wrapped up tightly in that same pillowy-soft pita.
We also ordered a side of fries (€6.00). While the seasoning was spot on—salty and herby in all the right ways—the texture was a little lacking. The chips were on the soggy side, and personally, I prefer mine crispier. That said, the flavour was still enjoyable.
Price and Final Thoughts
At €7.50, the gyros are on the pricier side compared to other spots in Greece. And given the portion size, quality of ingredients, and how well the wrap held everything together, we felt it was worth it.
While the fries could use a texture upgrade, the gyros themselves especially the chicken were among the best we had during our stay. If you’re looking for a quick, flavourful, and satisfying meal in Santorini, Let’s Eat is a great shout.
Gyros wrapped right, meat cooked perfectly, and a pita that blends into the filling like it was meant to be there. That’s a win in our book even if it’s a bit on the premium side for gyros.
