Kulu Kulu Sushi London: Fresh and Affordable Sushi in Soho
Looking for quality sushi at affordable prices in London? Finding good sushi in London can be tricky, you either pay sky-high prices or risk walking away disappointed. Kulu Kulu Sushi had been on my list for a while, and I finally made the time to visit. Let’s just say, I’m already planning my next trip.

Background about Kulu Kulu Sushi
Kulu Kulu has been part of Soho’s food scene for years, known as one of London’s earlier sushi train spots. Inside, it feels relaxed and cosy, with counter seating wrapped around the conveyor belt so you can grab whatever catches your eye, while a few small tables sit to the side for groups.
What is the experience like at Kulu Kulu Sushi?
I popped in for lunch around 1pm and was seated straight away, a rarity in busy Soho. Sitting at the bar gave me the best view of the sushi train, with plates gliding by in tempting variety. At the table, everything I needed was already laid out including chopsticks, soy sauce, ginger, and wasabi. Complimentary water is available too, though you’ll need to ask for it. The staff were warm and approachable without hovering, which added to the easygoing vibe of the place.

What is the food like at Kulu Kulu Sushi?
The food is where Kulu Kulu Sushi really shines. The salmon nigiri was the star, soft, buttery, and fresh enough to melt in my mouth. The ebi prawn nigiri was sweet and satisfying, while the soft shell crab roll was generous with crab meat, lightly fried, and not at all oily. I also enjoyed the salmon and avocado roll, which was packed with filling. The conveyor belt offered plenty of variety, but there’s also a menu of warm dishes if you want to mix things up. Each plate proved that sushi doesn’t have to be expensive to taste good.

What is the price like at Kulu Kulu Sushi?
The plates are priced individually, with prices clearly displayed on the menu and on the wall for reference. They range from £3 to £5.20, which is a bargain for central London. Here’s a tip worth knowing, if you book through EatClub, you’ll get 30% off your bill, making it an even better value. There’s no automatic service charge either, so you only tip what feels right.
Final Thoughts about Kulu Kulu Sushi
By the time I stacked my last plate, I was happily full and genuinely impressed. Kulu Kulu Sushi isn’t about fine dining or over-the-top presentation, it’s about fresh seafood, a laid-back vibe, and prices that won’t sting. It’s the kind of spot you can enjoy solo at the bar or with a couple of friends at the side tables. For me, it’s the balance of quality and value that makes this place stand out – and I know I’ll be back.

If you’re ever in Soho and craving sushi that’s fresh and affordable, give Kulu Kulu Sushi a try. It proves you don’t always need to splurge to enjoy good Japanese food in London. Grab a seat, watch the plates roll by, and let yourself be surprised by just how much value this little spot brings.
