Katsute 100 COVENT GARDEN: A Hidden Japanese Café Inside Uniqlo
Looking for a hidden gem in Covent Garden? I discovered Katsute 100, a cozy Japanese café in Covent Garden, tucked away inside Uniqlo. If you’re a fan of matcha, hojicha, and traditional Japanese desserts, this is a spot you won’t want to miss!

Where to Find Katsute 100 in Covent Garden
After a long day of shopping, I stumbled upon Katsute 100 Covent Garden, a charming Japanese café hidden on the top floor (level 2) of Uniqlo Covent Garden, right next to the embroidery section. It felt like a secret retreat—a peaceful spot to relax and recharge with authentic Japanese sweets and drinks.
The café has limited indoor seating but also offers an outdoor option. The quiet, welcoming atmosphere makes it the perfect place to take a break from the busy streets of Covent Garden.
What to Order at Katsute 100
Daifuku (£4.85) – A Perfect Balance of Flavours
I ordered the Daifuku, and it did not disappoint. This Japanese mochi dessert featured a fresh, sweet strawberry that paired beautifully with the earthy bitterness of matcha powder dusted on top.
What really made it special was the red bean filling—it cut through the intensity of the matcha, creating a harmonious blend of flavors. Every bite was soft, chewy, and just the right level of sweetness, making it an absolute delight for any mochi lover.
Hojicha Latte (£4.60) – Rich & Comforting
To pair with my Daifuku, I ordered a hojicha latte with soy milk. If you’ve never had hojicha, it’s a roasted green tea with a deep, toasty flavor. The tea’s natural smoky, caramel-like notes made for a warm and soothing drink, perfect for unwinding after shopping.
The soy milk added a smooth, creamy texture without overpowering the tea’s natural depth. If you’re a fan of Japanese roasted teas, this is a must-try!
