What was my Experience like at Jon cake?
I visited Jon Cake in the afternoon, around 3pm, and was pleasantly surprised to find the wait time wasn’t too long. The menu had an impressive variety of cheesecakes, which made choosing just one a challenge. I decided to try two slices: the Classic and the Idiazábal DO.
The Classic was creamy and well-balanced, made with a mix of Parmigiano Reggiano, Grana Padano, Gorgonzola, and Mascarpone, with a mild intensity of 2/5. It was everything you’d expect from a traditional cheesecake, smooth and satisfying. But it was the Idiazábal DO that truly won me over. Recommended as a local favourite from the staff, this smoked sheep cheese cheesecake carried a bold, distinctive flavour with an intensity of 4/5. It was rich, savoury, and surprisingly addictive.
Both slices were small, perfectly portioned, and priced at €3 each, making it easy to sample different varieties without overindulging.
What was the Food like at Jon cake?
Jon Cake’s menu is cheesecake heaven. Alongside the Classic and Idiazábal DO, you’ll find a rotation of flavours, some traditional and others daringly creative.
