Pastation London: Best Affordable Italian Pasta Spot
If you’re on the hunt for some of the best pasta in London that won’t break the bank, let me introduce you to Pastation. Right next to Goodge Street Station, this hidden gem is a must-visit for pasta lovers. With its affordable prices, endless customisation options, and high-quality ingredients, it’s a dream spot whether you’re grabbing a quick lunch, planning a cozy dinner, or indulging in a late-night pasta craving.
Experience
Walking into Pastation, you’re immediately hit with the aroma of fresh pasta and rich sauces simmering away. The casual yet charming atmosphere makes it a comfortable space to dine in, whether you’re solo, on a date, or catching up with friends. One of the best things? You can fully customise your pasta—choose your preferred pasta type and pair it with your favourite sauce, making each dish tailored exactly to your taste.
The staff were friendly and helpful, happy to offer recommendations (which we gladly took!). And despite being an affordable spot, the quality and presentation of the dishes were top-notch.
Note: You’ll need to pay at the counter first before finding a table to dine at.
Food
We kicked things off with two classic starters:
- Burrata (£8.95) – Soft, creamy, and paired beautifully with fresh tomatoes.
- Bruschetta (£8.95) – Light, crispy, and full of refreshing flavours.
For mains, we tried a mix of signature dishes and custom pasta options:

- Live Lobster Pasta (Half – £24.95) – An absolute MUST TRY! The lobster meat was soaked in flavour, and the best part? They even serve it with the claw, so you can dig in and get every last bite.
- Pistachio Pesto with Crispy Bacon (£15.95) – This dish was an unexpected delight! The nutty pistachio pesto, combined with the crispy bacon and topped with parmesan sprinkles, made every bite rich and indulgent.
To wrap up the meal, we indulged in desserts:

- Cannoli (£3.95) – Crisp shell, creamy filling, absolutely delicious.
- Tiramisu (£3.95) – Light, fluffy, and packed with that perfect coffee kick.
Price
One of the biggest surprises was how affordable everything was. With pasta dishes starting at just £5.95, it’s rare to find such great quality at this price point in London. Most dishes fall within the £10-£20 per person range, making it an excellent option for budget-conscious foodies without compromising on taste.
Final Thoughts
Pastation is easily one of the best casual Italian spots in London. The customisation options make it a great choice for picky eaters, while the signature dishes—especially the Live Lobster Pasta—elevate it to something truly special. Whether you’re in the mood for a comforting bowl of pasta on a budget or looking to splurge a little on something unique, Pastation has you covered.
